Many women book a consultation while they are still pregnant. This may be because you:
- Are pregnant with your first baby and want some personalised advice on getting breastfeeding established. Essentially, we’d do a one-to-one breastfeeding preparation course where you can ask any questions you have about breastfeeding.
- Have an underlying medical condition or pregnancy complication that you want to discuss in the context of getting breastfeeding established. For example, you maybe have diabetes or high blood pressure or know that your baby will be delivered early, or there is a possibility that they will be admitted to the Neonatal Unit.
- Tried to breastfeed with a previous baby, and didn’t meet your breastfeeding goals. This time round you’d like a plan so that breastfeeding is successful.
- Feel like the NHS preparation didn’t cover your breastfeeding goals in detail. For example, you may want to exclusively pump and bottlefeed, or combi-feed.
The cost for an antenatal consultation is £65. This is a one hour consultation and you’ll get a written summary/plan following our consultation. If you are planning to breastfeed, you’ll also get access to an online breastfeeding masterclass. Should you want/require some face to face breastfeeding support after the baby is born, you’ll get 20% off the price of any breastfeeding consultation.
You have two options for antenatal consultations:
